Jaipur International Rating Open Chess Tournment

IM Shri Ram Jha Lift the Trophy & Rs 50000/

IM  Sri Ram Jha won the Tournament & First Prize of Rs 50000/ . IM Saptrishi Roy was Runner up & won Prize of Rs 30000/ . Ram Prakash won Third Prize of Rs 20000/. WGM Esha Karwade was declared best women Player of The Tournament. Chief Guest of Prize Distribution Ceremony was Mr Ajaypal Singh, Chairman, Rajasthan Housing Board. AICF Secretary Mr D V Sundar, AICF Vice President Mr R M Dongre, AICF Vice President Mr Sameer Salgaonkar were Special Guests of Honor & Gave away the Prizes in Glittering & well attended Prize distribution Ceremony at Jaipur on 26.04.2008.

Among other Prize winners IM Atanu Lahiri Stood Fourth & bring home Rs 15000/. Somak Palit was 5th & grabbed Rs 10000/. Arjun Tiwari  was 6th & won Rs 6000/ . Last Year's Champion Himanshu Sharma Had to settle at 7th Positin with Rs 5000/ only. IM Roktim Bandyopadhyay, FM RamaKrishana & Shailendra K Bajpai were 8th, 9th & 10th respectively & won Rs 4000/, 3000/ & Rs 2000/ -. Total Prize fund of Tournament was Rs 200000/

WGM Esha Karwade, WIM Padmini Rout & WIM Soumya Swaminathan finished 11th, 13th & 14th . FM Prasana Rao slipped to 35th Position.

Blind Player Darpan Inani Surprised Many players by his brilliant skill & won applause of all chess players & Declared Best Sportsperson of the tournament.

Overall 202 players sent theirs entry, out of which 102 were rated. Out of 31 Girls 12 were rated. 5 IMs, 1 WGM, 2 WIMs & 2 FMs total 10 titled players participated in the tournament. 5 Nepalease Players also participated in the Event & out of that 2 got Rating eligibility.

Best 40 Players of Tournament got Shirts from Osia Italia. Best 25 Sub- Junior Players were given gift hampers by Liliput.
